About Australia Travel Questions

Australia Travel Questions is where you come if you want to know about travelling to Australia from the UK. It covers everything from airlines flying Down Under to the best beaches when you’re there.

The aim is to answer questions potential travellers may have – whether on day trips from Sydney or the best places to stay near the Great Barrier Reef. And the answers will always be honest.

It’s not just the Australian highlights reel covered, either. Australia Travel Questions is determined to show off lesser-known Australia. So whether you want to know the Wagga Wagga population, learn more about the King Valley wineries or investigate the Hamilton Island ferry, there’s probably an answer.

Australia Travel Questions is written and run by David Whitley, a freelance travel journalist with 20 years’ experience. He lived in Australia for five years, and has visited at least twice a year since. David has travelled extensively across every state and territory, including to out-of-the way spots such as Cahills Crossing in the Northern Territory and the Hattah Lakes near Mildura in Victoria.

He writes regularly for UK publications such as the Telegraph, the Sunday Times Travel Magazine, National Geographic Traveller, Horizon Guides and Travel Weekly, who use him as an Australia expert. He is also a frequent contributor to Traveller, the travel section of the Age and Sydney Morning Herald newspapers in Australia. Mentions of Australia Travel Questions in the media are updated on this site as they appear.
