Glebe Foreshore Walk, Sydney: Length, route and sights

The Glebe Foreshore Walk connects several parks on the shore of Rozelle Bay and Blackwattle Bay. This Sydney Harbour walk is 4km return and runs from Bicentennial Park in Glebe to Sydney Fish Market in Pyrmont.

Where is the Glebe Foreshore Walk?

The Glebe Foreshore walk covers a lesser-explored stretch of Sydney Harbour. It’s not nearly as well-known as the Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk or Spit Bridge to Manly Walk, but this Sydney stroll still makes for an enjoyable couple of hours out.

The Glebe Foreshore Walk stretches from Bicentennial Park in Glebe to the Sydney Fish Market in Pyrmont. It’s not a long walk – this is designed to be an amiable mooch rather than a test of the leg muscles.

How long is the Glebe Foreshore Walk?

The Gleber Foreshore Walk is around 2km one way, or 4km return. Go there and back without stops and this harbourside walking route should take you about one-and-a-half hours.

The vast bulk of this pleasant Sydney walk is through public Glebe foreshore parks. There are several lined up along Rozelle Bay and Blackwattle Bay. The Glebe Foreshore Walk starts in Bicentennial Park, and merges into Glebe Point Park around the landmark Glebe fig trees.

Blackwattle Bay sights and attractions

The Glebe Foreshore Walk continues around Glebe Point until it joins Blackwattle Bay Park. It passes Blackwattle Bay Wharf, from where there are excellent views of the Anzac Bridge, then skirts past the Glebe Rowing Club. The last stretch runs parallel to Bridge Road across the top of Wentworth Park, which is best known for its greyhound racing stadium.

The Sydney Fish Market is at the eastern end of Blackwattle Bay.

Fitness level required for Glebe Foreshore Walk

You don’t need high levels of fitness to complete the Glebe Foreshore Walk. Surfaces are smooth, and the whole route is basically flat.
