Matagarup Bridge climb steps and height

However, this new bridge in Perth is not just for walking across. It has also become an unlikely adventure activity hub. In a similar vein to Sydney’s Bridgeclimb and Brisbane’s Story Bridge Adventure Climb, it’s now possible to climb the Matagarup Bridge.

This Perth bridge climbing experience takes about one-and-a-half hours. On the way, you take on 314 steps – many of which are at a steep 45 degree angle. You also have to shimmy and squeeze past the bridge beams to reach an open-air viewing platform. This Skyview Deck is 72 metres above the Swan River.

As part of the experience, you wear a special harness and are clipped to a rail running along the rope. This prevents anyone from falling off the bridge on the climb.
