Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame, Longreach: Prices & show times

The Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame in Longreach, Queensland, offers a museum section and stockman skill shows including a live sheep muster. There are usually four shows per day.

The Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame and Outback Heritage Centre in Longreach, Queensland, is one of the best outback attractions in Australia. It is part museum and part show venue.

The museum section of this Longreach attraction focuses on the people of the outback. There is, naturally, a hefty section on the stockmen and the droving routes they take through the desert. But there’s also plenty on the artists of the outback and the traditional Indigenous inhabitants.

A multi-million dollar renovation has turned the Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame from a fairly dusty museum to a seriously impressive interactive experience.

4 Longreach experiences to book before you arrive

  4. Dinosaur-packed day tour to Winton.

Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame live shows

What the Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame is best known for, however, are the live shows. These put the spotlight on a stockman’s skills – so expect horse-riding, handling working dogs and a live sheep muster as well as traditional campfire songs.

These live shows run between April and October, and must be booked as part of the Stockman’s Experience. This basically means you get museum entry and the show for $75.

There are several shows per day. On most days, show times are at 09.00, 09.30, 11.00 and 11.30. However, there are no shows on Fridays.

Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame entry prices

Other things to do in Longreach include taking a cruise along the Thomson River and visiting the Qantas Founders Museum. You can also gallop through the outback on a stagecoach and visit a working sheep station.
