The best things to do in Moruya, NSW, include skydives, seaplane flights and walking the Bingi Dreaming Track.

Moruya is a town on the South Coast of New South Wales. Or, rather, it’s a town near the South Coast of New South Wales. Moruya is on the Moruya River, but it’s not actually on the coast. As such, it often gets skipped over by tourists who understandably want the seaside.

If you’re driving from Sydney to beach towns on the far south coast, however, you’ll almost certainly pass through Moruya. It’s on the Princes Highway on the drive from Batemans Bay to Narooma

Things to do in Moruya include skydiving. Skydive Oz operates from a private hangar right next to the beach in Moruya Heads. Handily, the drop zone is at the beach, too. Tandem skydives are available from heights up to 15,000ft.

If you’d prefer a scenic flight without jumping out of the plane, South Coast Seaplanes runs tours along the coast. The planes take off from and land on the Moruya River, and there are a range of experiences available. These include 15 minute seaplane jaunts down the coast or 40 minute trips to Montague Island. But you can also book a gourmet picnic package or go whale-watching from the air.
