All Saints Winery castle

All Saints Estate is family owned, and has been making wines since 1864. But what makes this winery distinct is that the cellar door is in the grounds of a castle.

The All Saints Castle is based on the Castle of Mey in Scotland. There’s a definite air of pastiche at All Saints Winery, but it is still one of very few castles in Australia. You want turrets and towers along with your wine-tasting experience? Then this is the spot.

The Great Hall of the All Saints Castle is taken up by barrels. Hundreds of barrels, some of them dating back to the early 1900s. Also inside the castle are a dungeon and a retro steam engine, which was originally used to supply power.

All Saints Estate cellar door and tours

The All Saints winery cellar door is surrounded by landscaped gardens. The idea is that you can go for a walk around the gardens before starting your sampling session.

But once there, you can try out the All Saints Estate Family Cellar, Premium and fortified wine ranges for a small fee. That fee is refunded when you purchase any wines afterwards.

The cellar door and castle at the All Saints Winery in Wahgunyah can be combined in a half hour ‘Vine to Wine’ tour. This includes a guided walk around the castle and grounds, including the original, heritage-listed Chinese dormitories where immigrant Chinese labourers once slept. The tour also visits the winery viewing room, where the guide discusses wine-making techniques. After the tour, there’s a tasting session at the cellar door, followed by a cheese platter.

All Saints winery tour cost
