But if you happen to be passing through on the Warrego Highway, there are a few heritage buildings to admire in the town. St Joseph’s Catholic Church and St John’s Anglican Church are probably the highlights, although there is a full heritage trail you can follow. Jimbour House just to the north of Dalby is handsome, too.

Things to do in Dalby, Queensland: Gallery 107 and Pioneer Park Museum

In amongst the heritage buildings is Gallery 107, which makes a valiant effort to bring culture to the country town. Gallery 107 hosts a mix of local and regional artists, plus the odd travelling exhibition.

Top of the list of things to do in Dalby, however, is the Pioneer Park Museum. This classic well-meaning regional museum has a collection of colonial-era buildings, plus a few displays about the local agricultural industry. The highlight of the Pioneer Park Museum is the working blacksmiths shop, and visitors can catch demonstrations of blacksmithery in action.

In terms of natural attractions, the Bunya Mountains are around 63km to the north-east. But Kingaroy is a little closer and arguably has more going for it as a base for the Bunya Mountains.
