Millers Ice Creamery, meanwhile, is a great place if travelling with kids. And not just because of the ice cream – there’s an adventure playground on-site, too.

Perhaps the most interesting food producer in Cowaramup, however, is Olio Bello. This olive farm grows olives and makes olive oil – but it also dabbles in beauty products and gourmet hampers. There’s a tasting room and café on site.

What to do in Cowaramup: Walk the Wadandi Track

Other things to do in Cowaramup include walking the Wadandi Track. This rail trail follows the former Busselton to Flinders Bay railway, stretching from Cowaramup to Sebbes Road. It goes through the town of Margaret River and Whichcliffe along the way. There are no steps or steep sections – it’s an easy-going walk through pleasant countryside.

The full Wadandi Track is 31km long, but you can easily stick to a smaller section.

There are a few places to stay in Cowaramup, the most fun of which is the lakeside glamping experience at the Olio Bello olive farm. For families, the Big4 Taunton Farm holiday park is likely to be a better bet.
