Huskisson, NSW, is the hub town of Jervis Bay, and has the biggest range of restaurants and accommodation in the region.

The town is about 20 minutes south-east of Nowra, and was once a boat-building town rather than a tourist town. The Jervis Bay Maritime Museum covers that history, and houses the historic Lady Denman ferry.

The best things to do in Huskisson, however, are on the water. Jervis Bay is famous for its resident dolphin pods. Dolphin Watch Cruises and Jervis Bay Wild are the two main cruise operators.

Jervis Bay Wild uses boom nets in the summer months, which means you can drift along in the water behind the boat. The company also offers kayak, canoe and stand-up paddleboard hire. The basic 1.5 hour dolphin cruise costs $35.

Both Jervis Bay Wild and Dolphin Watch Cruises run whale-watching tours in the winter months.
