Jurien Bay, WA, has a sleeper hit feel about it. This Western Australian holiday town has long been a family favourite for people who live in Perth. But this Indian Ocean hotspot has started gaining the attention of international visitors, too.

Jurien Bay, Western Australia, is primarily a beach town. There are several beaches to choose from within the Jurien Bay Marine Park. The main beach plays host to the Jurien Bay Jetty, although the remnants of the old jetty sticking up through the white sand are more photogenic.

What to do in Jurien Bay: Sea lions and snorkelling tours

You might have to share the beach, however. Jurien Bay is one of the best places in Australia to see Australian sea lions, and the big fellas love hanging out on the beach.

The best things to do in Jurien Bay usually involve a sea lion sighting at some point. Sea Lion Charters runs snorkelling tours where you can get in the water with the Jurien Bay sea lions, as does Turquoise Safaris.

Jurien Bay Oceanic Experience also offers the sea lion tours, but has other options including fishing charters and rock lobster-catching tours.

Things to do in Jurien Bay, WA: North Head and Stockyard Gully Caves

Jurien Bay Adventure Tours, meanwhile, sticks to the land. It runs a series of trips exploring the local area. Options include sandboarding down the big coastal dunes, a 4WD trip to the World War II ruins at North Head and adventures in the Stockyard Gully Caves.

The company also runs tours to national parks near Jurien Bay. The Nambung National Park – home to the Pinnacles desert – is the best known of these. But the Lesueur National Park is a brilliant place to see Western Australian wildflowers.

Other things to do in Jurien Bay include skydives. Skydive Jurien Bay will take you up in a plane, then kick you out at 14,000ft before you float to earth and land on the beach.
