Things to do in Sea Lake, Victoria

The best things to do in Sea Lake, Victoria, are going to the Lake Tyrrell Lookout and admiring the silo art near the railway station.

Sea Lake, Victoria, is a small town along the Calder Highway. You’ll pass through on the Bendigo to Mildura leg of the drive from Melbourne to Mildura.

The main attraction near Sea Lake is Lake Tyrrell, one of Australia’s increasingly famous pink lakes. This salt lake – which isn’t always pink – is just to the north of the town. And if you want Lake Tyrrell accommodation, then Sea Lake is the nearest place where you’re going to find some.

There are a few things to do in Sea Lake itself, but don’t get yourself overly excited with them. It mostly falls into bog standard country town territory.

Things to do in Sea Lake, Victoria: Recreation Reserve & Golf Club

The Sea Lake Recreation Reserve is home to the Sea Lake Caravan Park, which works on an honesty box system. There’s also a garden specifically planted to withstand drought conditions and a smattering of shaded picnic areas.

Golfers can have a round at the Sea Lake Golf Club, but it’s a scrubby, sandy nine hole course. It’s also only open between April and October, with the wise assumption that conditions will be far too hot taking over for the rest of the year.

Sea Lake silo art

One Sea Lake attraction that is worth seeing, however, is the silo art. Near the train station, Sea Lake’s effort on Victoria’s Silo Art Trail is a giant painting of a girl on a swing, looking out over a dramatic dusk sky.
