Yallingup, WA, is a key part of the Margaret River wine region. And if you choose to this corner of Western Australia, you’ll find a multitude of wineries to keep you busy. Yallingup wineries include Aravina Estate, Wills Domain, Voyager Estate, Marq Wines and Windows Estate.

There’s plenty of great food to go along with the wine, too. Barnyard 1978 has a restaurant, honey farm and barn store stocked with locally-made goodies. Yallingup Woodfired Bread produces astonishingly good breads and cakes. The Cape Lavender Teahouse serves traditional Devonshire teas and Gabriel Chocolate should satisfy those with a sweet tooth.

There are more things to do in Yallingup besides eating and drinking, however. The kids should love Yallingup Maze, a maze made of wood with play areas, a bouncy castle and a puzzle café tagged on.

Ngilgi Cave, meanwhile, is the oldest Yallingup attraction, with spectacular stalagmites, stalactites and cave decorations.

But Yallingup’s real strength is along the coast. The Yallingup stretch of the Cape to Cape Walk include several stellar beaches, arresting rock formations and unusual swimming holes. Starting in the north, Yallingup Beach offers both great surf for surfers and the Yallingup Lagoon for easy swimming.

Things to do in Yallingup, WA: Torpedo Rocks, Smiths Beach and Canal Rocks

South of Yallingup Beach is the Torpedo Rocks Lookout – a fine place to watch crashing waves – then Smiths Beach. Surfers flock to Smiths Beach when conditions are right, but otherwise it has an isolated feel, white sand and fabulous sunsets.

Keep heading south and you’ll reach the Aquarium, Yallingup, a sheltered snorkelling spot protected from the ocean swell. The Aquarium, Yallingup next to Canal Rocks – a series of moody granite rocks jutting out of the Indian Ocean.

Then, before you get to Injidup Beach, there’s the Injidup Natural Spa. This is not really a spa, but a swimming hole in the rocks, where the ocean waves crash in for added drama.
