Yandina, Queensland: Things to do and attractions

The best things to do in Yandina, Queensland, include tours at the Ginger Factory, macadamia-tasting at Nutworks and Asian cookery classes at Spirit House.

Yandina, Queensland, isn’t generally the first place people have in mind when they head to the Sunshine Coast. They’re more likely to be seeking Dicky Beach, Kings Beach and the Pumicestone Passage in Caloundra. Or Little Cove and Hastings Street in Noosa. Or the submarine tours in Mooloolaba.

But there are plenty of things to do in Yandina, which is slightly inland from the coast on the Bruce Highway.

Star of the show is the Ginger Factory, which is home of Buderim Ginger. There are several attractions here, including ginger and honey tasting tours, an animation-augmented children’s boat ride and

There’s more local produce in the spotlight at Nutworks. Directly opposite the Ginger Factory, Nutworks concentrates on macadamias. You can watch them being processed in the factory and enjoy small tasting sessions. But this is also a chocolate factory, and the real confectioner’s magic happens when the chocolate and macadamias combine.
