The other route heads out along the M4 past Parramatta and the Prospect Reservoir. It crosses the Nepean River at Jamisontown, then heads into the Blue Mountains. You can peel off to explore the Glenbrook section of the Blue Mountains National Park, including Jellybean Pool, the Euroka Campground and the Portal Lookout.

The drive then passes through several Blue Mountains towns and villages, many of which have attractions on the doorstep. Try the Valley Heights Rail Museum from Springwood, Clarina Falls or the Norman Lindsay Gallery from Faulconbridge or the Linden Observatory from Linden.
