Larrimah Roadhouse and Elsey National Park

After the Tennant Creek to Daly Waters leg, the Tennant Creek to Katherine drive continues towards Larrimah, home of the garish Pink Panther Roadhouse. If they can paint anything pink here, they will do.

The most worthwhile stop on the leg from Daly Waters to Katherine is Mataranka. There’s another roadhouse here, although you’re better off staying at the Mataranka Homestead. This is next to the Mataranka Thermal Pool in Elsey National Park, where you can also visit Mataranka Falls. From the Mataranka Roadhouse to Katherine, it’s another 108km.

Most use the town as a hub for Nitmiluk National Park, but other good things to do in Katherine include the Katherine Hot Springs, the Katherine Outback Experience and the Top Didj Cultural Experience.
