The Marion Hotel, Adelaide, is one of Australia’s classic neighbourhood pubs. It’s also one of the freshest-looking. In 2018, the Marion Hotel underwent a $20 million revamp.

This Adelaide pub revamp saw the Marion Hotel accommodation offering massively increase, going from 12 motel-style rooms to 62. The classic king rooms have 28 square metres of floor space – not huge, not tiny. But they also come with modern bathrooms, smart TVs, room service and free parking.

The Marion Hotel bottle shop and function rooms were also part of the revamp. But the bars, two dining areas and beer garden will probably be more of interest. The Shed is the main bar area, designed more for drinking than dining. It’s where you’d come to watch sport on the big screen or enjoy a few beers after work.

The Garden is the heart of the Marion Hotel, straddling the divide between restaurant and cocktail bar. It works for both brunch and late night drinks. There’s also plenty of entertainment in the Garden – it’s where live bands and DJs play.

The main Marion Hotel restaurant is the Dining Room. In this Adelaide pub restaurant, you’ll find fresh seafood, plenty of vegan options and Yoder-smoked dishes.

Mains on the Marion Hotel menu include confit duck leg, tofu and vegetable curry and a lamb rack with chimichurri and kipfler potatoes. There are also classic pub dishes, such as schnitzels and burgers.
