Cape Keraudren, Western Australia: Camping fees and things to do

The best things to do at Cape Keraudren, Western Australia, are fishing and crabbing. Cape Keraudren camping fees cost $10 per night.

Cape Keraudren is one of those remote spots in Australia that the vast majority will ignore, but some will adore. This lonely outpost is on the Pilbara coastline of Western Australia, around 150km north-east of Port Hedland.

Realistically, you’re only going to consider Cape Keraudren if driving up the Western Australian coast from Perth to Broome. It’s a possible stop on the final Port Hedland to Broome leg of the journey through the northern Pilbara.

Things to do at Cape Keraudren, WA

The main reason to visit Cape Keraudren is the nature. The Cape offers a series of mangrove-lined bays, with narrow sandy beaches interspersing the otherwise rocky coastline.

You’ll also find tidal creeks – beware of saltwater crocodile in these – and seagrass meadows. Most life is in the water, where reefs, seaweed beds and sponge gardens host a wealth of coral and aquatic life.

Those who love Cape Keraudren usually enjoy fishing, crabbing and generally being in the middle of nowhere.
