Southern Moreton Bay Island ferries: Russell Island ferry timetable

However, you do need to pay attention to which ferry you’re catching. The Southern Moreton Bay Islands ferries link several islands. The ferries to Russell Island also stop at Lamb Island, Macleay Island and Karragarra Island. Some of them stop at Russell Island first, and there’s a 20 minute crossing time from Redland Bay. These are the counterclockwise ferries, and if you want to go to Russell Island, these are the ones to catch.

The clockwise ferries go via the other islands first, and thus take a bit longer. Getting the clockwise ferry is not a huge bungle, but they take half an hour to reach Russell Island instead. It’s mildly annoying pulling in at Karragarra Island, Macleay Island and Lamb Island if you just want a quick crossing to Russell Island.
