The viewing platform is cantilevered 40 metres above the ocean, sticking out ten metres from the rock surface.

How to get to the Gap from Albany

The Gap car park is an 18km drive from Albany, which should take around 18 minutes. Start off heading west along Princess Royal Drive, then turn down Frenchman Bay Road. The Gap Road branches off to the south-west once inside Torndirrup National Park.

From the car park, there is a short, raised, wheelchair-accessible walkway to the Gap viewing platform.

Other attractions in Albany include the old whaling station at Discovery Bay, whale-watching cruises and the National Anzac Centre. There are also several excellent beaches nearby, including Middleton Beach, Little Beach and Gull Rock Beach.
