The Bairnsdale to Mallacoota leg of the road trip then heads past the Bemm River section of Croajingolong National Park. If you fancy a stroll, try the McKenzie River Rainforest Walk.

The Princes Highway then climbs through Lind National Park towards Cann River, the gorgeous gateway to the Tamboon Inlet section of Croajingolong National Park. The top attraction here is the Point Hicks Lighthouse. Point Hicks was where Lt James Cook’s crew first sighted Australia in 1770.

On the final leg from Mallacoota to Eden, there’s a lot of green forest. The Maramingo Creek Nature Conservation Reserve comes just before the New South Wales border, but the best stops come afterwards.

The Princes Highway has Mount Imlay National Park to the west and Beowa National Park to the east. The latter, formerly known as Ben Boyd National Park, is the best set up for visitors. If picking just one highlight, it’s the coastal walking track from the Green Cape Lighthouse to Bittagabee Bay.

Nearer Eden, check out the old Davidsons Whaling Station on Kiah Inlet. The highway then goes passes through Boydtown on Nullica Bay before entering Eden.
