The Coffs Harbour to South West Rocks drive leaves Coffs Harbour along the Pacific Highway, passing the Coffs International Stadium and the Coffs Harbour Butterfly House on the way out. The highway runs inland, to the west of Boambee Beach and Sawtell Beach.

It then passes through Bongil Bongil National Park, which is known for its peaceful, kayaker-friendly waterways.
