Dubbo to Parkes drive: Road trip stops and attractions

On the way out of Dubbo, the drive skirts past the Taronga Western Plains Zoo. This safari-style zoo goes beyond the usual kangaroos and koalas of Australian wildlife parks. There’s also accommodation available at Dubbo Zoo.

The next stop of any vague interest if going from Dubbo to Parkes by car is Momo State Forest. However, you’re better off saving your natural fix for a little further south and detouring slightly west of the highway to Goobang National Park.
