Emerald to Townsville drive: Blackwood National Park

The Clermont to Charters Towers section of the Emerald to Townsville drive passes Mazeppa National Park and Nariana National Park, neither of which are set up for tourism.

Blackwood National Park, shortly after the Belyando Crossing roadhouse, is worth a short break at, however.The 1km Brigalow Circuit gives a good overview of the wetlands if it’s just a short leg stretch you’re after.

The drive then continues alongside the Campapse River, and meets the Flinders Highway just outside Charters Towers.
