Maryborough to Rockhampton road trip: Childers and Bundaberg
If you’re not doing Hervey Bay, however, heritage town Childers is the next stop on the Bruce Highway. Attractions in Childers include the Snakes Downunder reptile park, the Flying High Bird Park and the loveably niche Childers Pharmaceutical Museum.

Bundaberg is another good detour, and again it is off the Bruce Highway. On the Maryborough to Bundaberg drive, you’ll go past Bingera National Park.
