On the 106km stretch from Kempsey to Coffs Harbour, the Pacific Highway runs inland. You are, however, better off enjoying the coast. Hat Head National Park, the Trial Bay Gaol and Horseshoe Bay Beach at South West Rocks are all worthy of investigation.
