Sydney to Uluru road trip guide: Distance, time & best stops
Sydney to Uluru road trip: Northern Territory section
The final leg of the journey, from Coober Pedy to Uluru, is the longest. It’s 756km long and takes eight hours. Barring the colourful Breakaways hills just north of Coober Pedy, there’s virtually nothing to see, either. Once you reach the Northern Territory, you need to turn west down the Lasseter Highway. Here, you’ll pass Mount Conner before finally arriving at Uluru.
Accommodation is likely to be at the Ayers Rock Resort in Yulara, a short drive from Uluru.
There are many, many things to do at Uluru beside walking around the big red rock. These include camel tours, helicopter flights, a side trip to Kata-Tjuta and the Sounds of Silence dinner.
Which Uluru accommodation should I book?
