Townsville to Cloncurry road trip: Richmond and Julia Creek

It’s 400km from Hughenden to Cloncurry and the first town en route is Richmond. Here, you can look at dinosaur and marine fossils inside Kronosaurus Korner or splash around at the Kronosaurus Water Park.

The Midway Motel is decent shout for an overnight stop in Richmond.

The only other realistic stop before Cloncurry is Julia Creek, which has an artesian pool and caravan park.
