Melbourne to Exmouth flight time: Direct flights to Learmonth Airport
Seasonal direct Melbourne to Exmouth flights take around 4h55m, with one way fares costing from $399. The new route from Melbourne to Learmonth Airport launches in April 2023.
Traditionally, getting to regional Western Australia has required a change of planes in Perth. This, however, is starting to change, as the value of direct flights to Western Australia’s harder-to-reach tourist hotspots is realised.
A classic case in point is Exmouth, the gateway to the Ningaloo Reef. From April 2023, it’s no longer necessary to transit in Perth if you want to reach Exmouth. Well, if you’re coming from Melbourne, anyway.
Qantas announced that it was launching direct Melbourne to Exmouth flights on 14 October, with the first service due to launch on 30 April 2023. This won’t be a particularly frequent service, but it is timed to work perfectly for a three day mini break on the Ningaloo Reef. What’s more, it’s also timed for the Ningaloo’s whale shark season.
Before leaving, you may want to tick Melbourne Cricket Ground tours, Yarra River dinner cruises and cross-city hot air balloon flights off your Melbourne wish list.
