Near Scone, NSW, the Lake Glenbawn camping area at the Reflections Holiday Park offers lakeside camping sites for from $31 a night.

Lake Glenbawn on the Hunter River near Scone is one of the largest reservoirs in New South Wales. The lake is created by the 100 metre tall Glenbawn Dam.

As well as being a water resource, Lake Glenbawn is a popular recreation area. Bushwalking, picnics, water sports and fishing are all solid options.

It is also possible to camp at Lake Glenbawn, with sites in the Lake Glenbawn camping area managed by the Reflections Holiday Park. Many of the lakeside sites are unpowered and undesignated – you just rock up and find a spot as if you’re finding somewhere to lay a towel on the beach.

The good news is that there are hundreds of spots available, with fees costing from $31 a night.

There are also a few powered sites, which cost from $44 a night.

If you’d prefer to stay in a cabin than camp out, then the Reflections Lake Glenbawn Holiday Park also offers a few cabins. Rates for these cabins aren’t especially good value, however, as they cost from $217 a night. Bookings can be made online.

Facilities at the Reflections Lake Glenbawn Holiday Park include barbecues, a kiosk, a swimming pool and tennis courts. It’s not a massively child-focused place, but there are a few limited children’s facilities.
