Surfing at Corrimal Beach, Wollongong

The best surf at Corrimal Beach tends to be at the southern end neat the creek mouth. This is also where you’ll find the Corrimal Surf Life Saving Club.

Corrimal Beach is patrolled by surf lifesavers between September and April, and it is wise to swim between the red and yellow flags. There is a series of fairly aggressive rips along Corrimal Beach, that can be dangerous for weak swimmers.

Bellambi Lagoon at Corrimal Beach

However, what makes Corrimal Beach distinctive – and a lot more family-friendly – is the Bellambi Lagoon. Towards the northern end of the beach, this placid lagoon is a good place for kids to have a paddle. There’s a car park next to the lagoon, which also helps.
