The best Beecroft Peninsula beaches – with PHOTOS

On Jervis Bay, the Beecroft Peninsula is home to several great beaches. Here are three of the most incredible.

The Beecroft Peninsula is the often forgotten section of Jervis Bay, New South Wales. While visitors flock to the likes of Huskisson Beach, Hyams Beach, Callala Beach and Blenheim Beach, this peninsula on the bay’s north-eastern flank gets ignored.

This is partly because much of the Beecroft Peninsula is Department of Defence land. Visitor facilities outside the main town Currarong are sparse. But it is worth making the journey as some of the Beecroft Peninsula beaches are phenomenal.

Best Beecroft Peninsula beaches: Currarong Beach

If you’re coming to the Beecroft Peninsula, then Currarong Beach is the obvious choice for some sea and sand. Unlike other Jervis Bay beaches such as Iluka Beach and Greenfield Beach, it doesn’t face into the bay.

This means Currarong Beach gets a bit more ocean swell than some of the others. But it is still reasonably protected, facing north by northeast. The southern end of this 3.6km beach is best for swimming. This is also where you can take a kayak along Currarong Creek.

Best Beecroft Peninsula beaches: Long Beach

Long Beach has all the dreamy qualities of the more famous Jervis Bay beaches, but with a fraction of the crowds.

This Beecroft Peninsula beach is 2km long, and comes with the white sand and turquoise water that makes the region so famous.

The water is often incredibly placid, and perfect for swimming or snorkelling. There’s also a good chance of seeing dolphins just offshore.

Best Beecroft Peninsula beaches: Honeymoon Bay

Honeymoon Bay is the quirky one that just so happens to have Instagram star quality.

It’s a small beach, but one where the white sand is hugged by a near perfect semi-circular rocky shoreline.

It looks stunning, and you can pitch a tent at the Honeymoon Bay campground.

But there’s a catch. Honeymoon Bay is part of the Beecroft Weapons Range, and is only open to the public on weekends, public holidays and New South Wales school holidays.
