Dangar Falls on the Bielsdown River in Dorrigo, NSW, is a 30 metre waterfall. It’s a 15 minute walk to the pool at the base of the falls, and many visitors go swimming there.

Dangar Falls is a waterfall in New South Wales, Australia. This photogenic and fairly wide waterfall sees the Bielsdown River plunge 30 metres over a basalt cliff into a pool at the bottom.

Where is Dangar Falls?

Dangar Falls is about 1.5km north of the town of Dorrigo. Most people will visit while driving the Waterfall Way from Armidale to Coffs Harbour (or Tamworth to Coffs Harbour).

Dangar Falls walk

The Dangar Falls car park is next to the picnic area, playground and lookout. Parking is free.

If you want to get to the base of Dangar Falls, however, you’ll need to tackle a 15 minute walk. The walk is paved, but reasonably steep.

At the bottom, you’ll find a boardwalk and another lookout.

Can I swim at Dangar Falls?

Swimming at Dangar Falls is not exactly encouraged, but plenty of people do get in for a dip in the pool. Expect cold water if you do swim at Dangar Falls, and all swimming is done at your own risk.
