There’s plenty to do in Edinburgh Gardens, North Fitzroy. There are two playgrounds – one at the northern end and one at the southern end.
There are also two Australian rules football and cricket ovals, plus a basketball court. Perhaps more of interest to casual visitors, however will be the tennis courts and bowls club.
Fitzroy Tennis Club
The Fitzroy Tennis Club is based in Edinburgh Gardens, but you don’t have to be a member to book a court. It’s not quite Melbourne Park, but you can still have a good rally or three here. Use the Play Tennis website for bookings.
Fitzroy Victoria Bowling and Sports Club
The Fitzroy Victoria Bowling and Sports Club is also based in Edinburgh Gardens. There are ten bowls rinks here, which are available for hire seven days a week.
