North of the Capricorn Caves, the Rockhampton to Mackay leg of the Yeppoon to Airlie Beach drive is pretty uneventful. There’s a lot of sugar cane, and not much else as you chug up the Bruce Highway to Clairview and Sarina. More adventurous drivers with a 4WD might choose to detour up to Cape Palmerston for excellent fishing. The turn-off is at Ibilibie, before you arrive in Sarina.
