Where is Jibbon Beach?

Jibbon Beach is a calm, well-protected beach in the Bundeena section of the Royal National Park, New South Wales. It lies to the east of the village of Bundeena, and is a short walk from the Bundeena Ferry terminal.

That said, a lot of people come by boat, anchoring towards the eastern end of the beach.

Swimming and surfing at Jibbon Beach, Bundeena

Jibbon Beach is on Port Hacking, is largely north-facing and gets plenty of protection from the ocean swells courtesy of Jibbon Head.

This Royal National Park beach is known as a safe swimming spot, with no concerning rips to worry about. This makes it a popular swimming beach for families. Generally, the further east you go on this Royal National Park beach, the calmer it gets.

Obviously, such a good swimming beach is essentially a dud for surfers. Don’t bother bringing your board here.

Jibbon Beach Loop Track walk

Perhaps the main reason for visiting Jibbon Beach, however, is the Jibbon Beach Loop Track. This Royal National Park walking track stretches around 5.1km from the Bundeena Ferry Terminal and should take most people just under two hours.

The Jibbon Beach Loop Track is a moderately easy walk, with only small elevation gains. Highlights along the way are the views of the cliffs and the preserved Aboriginal rock carvings. Indeed, Jibbon Head is one of the best places in Sydney to see Aboriginal rock art.
