Barcaldine to Charters Towers drive: Aramac attractions

This drive through outback Queensland starts by heading north on the Barcaldine-Aramac Road towards Aramac.

Aramac isn’t exactly New York City, but it for these parts, it is positively bustling. There’s a campground, a racecourse and the Aramac Aquatic Centre, should you fancy a swim. The Aramac Hotel will provide you with beers, you can fill up at the Whitebull Roadhouse and the Aramac Tramway Museum should satisfy any cravings to look at old railway equipment.

From there, continue north-west along the Muttaburra-Aramac Road, then branch off along the Torrens Creek-Aramac Road.
