Next come several excellent beaches. Sapphire Beach and Moonee Beach are winners, and the Moonee Beach Nature Reserve is a great place for wildlife spotting. You can also spot kangaroos, whales and dolphins at the Look At Me Now Headland, just south of Emerald Beach.

After beach town Woolgoolga and surf hotspot Arrawarra, the Pacific Highway turns inland. You can drop by the Yarrawarra Aboriginal Cultural Centre for an education in local Indigenous heritage.
