Can I swim at Sapphire Beach?

Sapphire Beach isn’t the safest beach in the world for swimming. There are a fair few rips along its 2.3km length. Lifeguards don’t offer permanent patrols, either.

That said, lifeguard patrols at Sapphire Beach kick in during the school holidays. Surfing is reasonably good here, however, with Green Bluff and White Bluff at either end of the beach not significantly blocking the swells.

Others things to do at Sapphire Beach include fishing. You’ll reliably find whiting, mulloway and bream in the beach gutters.
