Geraldton to Monkey Mia road trip: National Park detour?

The last leg of the Perth to Monkey Mia road trip is from Denham to Monkey Mia. This takes under 20 minutes, but you may wish to divert into the Francois Peron National Park on the way. Here, the star attraction is Big Lagoon – a fabulous place for dolphin and stingray spotting. Cape Peron, meanwhile, has a perfect mix of red cliffs, white sand and teal water.

The only accommodation at Monkey Mia is the RAC Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort. Book well in advance of arriving, or potentially get a nasty surprise. There is also a $15 per car Monkey Mia entry fee.
