The drive from the Gold Coast to Yamba connects two very different types of beach destination. The Gold Coast in Queensland is famously brash, high rise and busy. Yamba in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales is much more laid back.

Gold Coast to Yamba distance and driving time

By car, the distance from the Gold Coast to Yamba is 208km. This makes for a driving time of around two hours and 22 minutes from Surfers Paradise. Obviously, if coming from further south on the Gold Coast, that time will be a little shorter.

Coming out of Surfers Paradise, head south along State Route 3 until you join the Pacific Motorway at Burleigh Heads.

The likes of Palm Beach, the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary in Currumbin and Kirra Beach are a short detour off the motorway, as is Coolangatta.
