Hobart to Kettering distance and driving time

By car, the distance from Hobart to Kettering is 32km. That makes for a driving time of around 33 minutes.

The quickest route leaves Hobart to the south along the A6, between Mount Wellington and Mount Nelson.

The first town encountered is Kingston, which is primarily of interest for Kingston Beach.

The Hobart to Kettering drive then cuts west of Stinkpot Bay, passing Margate where you can visit the quirky Margate Train. This decommissioned train is now home to arty shops, a microbrewery, a café and an antiques warehouse.

Margate is also home to the Channel Museum, which looks at the cultural heritage of the D’Entrecasteaux Channel region of Tasmania.

Hobart to Kettering drive: Peggys Beach and Snug Beach

For beach time, try Peggys Beach just south of Margate Marina or Snug Beach a little further south.

Just before entering Kettering, you’ll pass Raptor Refuge, a wildlife conservation project devoted to birds of prey.

The ferry terminal is just to the east of Kettering town centre.
