Kalbarri to Carnarvon drive: Shark Bay attractions

Once you’re on the North West Coastal Highway, the must-do diversion is World Heritage-listed Shark Bay.

This is where you can see the ancient stromatolites at Hamelin Pool, embark on a dugong-spotting cruise from Denham or take a 4WD adventure around the Francois Peron National Park towards Cape Peron.

There’s also the option of hand-feeding wild dolphins at Monkey Mia. Beware the $15 entry fee at Monkey Mia and book your accommodation in advance. The RAC Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort is the only place to stay here, although there are more hotels in Denham.
