Lakes Entrance to Merimbula road trip: Mallacoota to Eden

Between Mallacoota and Eden, there’s plenty of green forest. The Maramingo Creek Nature Conservation Reserve is just before the New South Wales border, but the best stops are on the NSW side.

The Princes Highway passes between Mount Imlay National Park to the west and Beowa National Park to the east. The latter was formerly known as Ben Boyd National Park, and is well set up for visitors. The coastal walking track from the Green Cape Lighthouse to Bittagabee Bay is a clear highlight.

Other tours include a private outing along Sapphire Coast and a photography tour focusing on Eden’s beaches

Top Eden accommodation options include the Heritage House Motel near the Killer Whale Museum, and the Snug Cove Villas, which come with spa baths

Lakes Entrance to Merimbula: Eden to Merimbula

It’s a short hop from Eden to Merimbula, with tempting beaches such as Long Beach and Pinnacles Beach just off the highway.

The highway then passes through the small village of Broadwater, a tiny village, where Captain Sponges Magical Oyster Tours visits oyster farms on Pambula Lake.

You’ll go past the Longstocking Brewery and Panboola Wetlands into Pambula, where a short coastal detour brings you towards 5km-long Pambula Beach. Kangaroos graze next to the cabins at the Discovery Parks Pambula Beach holiday park.

Merimbula is just to the north. Things to do in Merimbula include protected swimming at Bar Beach and amusement park rides at Magic Mountain Merimbula.
