Melbourne to Bright road trip: Glenrowan and Milawa

Glenrowan, where the Kelly Gang’s final siege took place is a little further along the highway. The Big Ned Kelly Statue on the main street plus the models and interpretive signs on Siege Street  are the highlights here.

The turn-off from the highway is just north of Glenrowan, down Snow Road towards Oxley and Milawa. You’ll find some of the more northerly King Valley wineries here. Brown Brothers is the most famous.

Snow Road joins the Great Alpine Road just south of Gapsted, where you can go wine-tasting at Gapsted Wines.
