The final stretch of the Melbourne to Perth drive is along the Great Eastern Highway towards Perth. It’s a monotonous drive, with not a great deal to keep visitors enthralled.
It’s worth pulling over to learn about the State Barrier Fence in Burracoppin. This was formerly known as the Rabbit-Proof Fence, and is often regarded as the longest fence in the world. Shortly afterwards, you can make a minor detour along the Granite Way. This 60km driving route links several big granite outcrops in Kellerberrin, Quairading and Bruce Rock.
