Depending on where in Port Augusta you’re coming from, you’ll either depart the town on the Eyre Highway or the Caroona Road. The latter goes past Port Augusta Airport and the Port Augusta Free Camping Ground.

The Caroona Road and Eyre Highway merge shortly before the Tanks Rest Area in Lincoln Gap. This is where the Lincoln Highway branches off the Eyre Highway, heading south towards Whyalla.
