Stony Point to Phillip Island ferry: Location, timetable and prices

The Stony Point to Phillip Island ferry connects Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula to Phillip Island, with four timetabled services per day in each direction.

The Phillip Island ferry

By far the most important thing to know about the Phillip Island ferry in Victoria, Australia, is that you don’t need to use it.

Phillip Island is one of Victoria’s most popular holiday spots. It is famed for its nightly Penguin Parade (book tickets in advance for that) but you can also enjoy a seal-watching cruise and a highly interactive chocolate factory tour.

It may be an island, but you don’t need to take the Phillip Island ferry to get there. There is a bridge from San Remo on the Victorian mainland.

Where does the Phillip Island ferry depart from?

You may, however, choose to get the Phillip Island ferry by choice. It departs from Stony Point on the eastern side of the Mornington Peninsula and is run by Western Port Ferries. The French Island ferries also depart from here. If going to French Island, this is the way to get there, as there is no bridge.

Getting the ferry from Stony Point to Cowes on Phillip Island, however, may save a little driving time, but hardly any overall.
