Is it safe to swim in the Blue Pool, Victoria?

It is reasonably safe to swim in the Blue Pool, Victoria, although obviously there is no lifeguard service here.

The two things to be aware of are the depth and temperature. The pool seems shallow when you first enter, but very quickly gets deep.

Also, brace yourself for the water to be cold. Admittedly, this can be wonderfully refreshing on a hot day, but the Blue Pool isn’t the spot for a swim on an overcast autumn morning.

On those not-so-warm days, content yourself with the short walk up to the nearby lookout over the gorge.
