Point Samson caravan park: Rates, facilities and location

The Point Samson caravan park is a good place to stay on a road trip through the Pilbara Region of Western Australia. Powered sites and chalets are available.

The Point Samson caravan park is one of the more appealing places to stay on the long drive from Exmouth to Broome in Western Australia. It’s on the Karratha to Port Hedland leg of the journey, although it requires a chunky detour north from Roebourne to get there.

Point Samson was once an asbestos shipping port, although fishing is the main industry today. It is slowly morphing into a low key Pilbara holiday village, however.

Point Samson caravan park facilities

The Point Samson caravan park – also known as the Samson Beach caravan park – is the main place to stay here. In keeping with the town, it’s a simple affair, largely aimed at roadtrippers who aren’t looking for many frills. There are barbecues, laundry facilities, ablution blocks and a fish-scaling table. But don’t come expecting playgrounds, water parks and tennis courts.

There are just 20 sites at the Point Samson caravan park, so you’ll need to book early. Bookings are not available online – you need to call 08 9187 0202.

Point Samson caravan park rates

All sites at the Point Samson caravan park are powered, and from April 2023 onwards, they cost $55 per night. For more information, visit the Samson Beach caravan park website.

The caravan park is by the beach, a short walk from the Samson Beach Tavern and General Store.

Alternative accommodation is available at the Samson Beach Chalets, run by the same people as the caravan park. This is where to stay if you want a pool.
