Logue Brook Dam, WA: Swimming, fishing and camping at Lake Brockman

Lake Brockman on Logue Brook Dam, Western Australia, is a lovely spot for swimming, camping and kayaking. Mountain bikers and water skiers can have plenty of fun, too.

Logue Brook Dam in Western Australia is officially about water supply, but it has become a popular recreation spot, too.

This Western Australian dam was constructed in 1963, forming Lake Brockman. It’s now a hub for all manner of outdoor adventures, including swimming, fishing, sailing, mountain-biking and camping.

Where is Logue Brook Dam?

Logue Brook Dam is in the shire of Harvey, part of the Peel region south of Perth. The nearest town to Lake Brockman is Cookernup, with Perth being a 125km drive away. Yarloop, a slightly bigger town, is just to the north of Cookernup.

The lake is at the western edge of the Lane Poole Reserve, with Waroona and Lake Navarino just to the north.

Logue Brook Dam camping

For Perth residents, Logue Brook Dam tends to be a popular spot for camping holidays. Sites at the Logue Brook campground can be booked through the Lake Brockman Tourist Park, which also offers cabin accommodation.

There’s a boat ramp right next to the campground, and a designated water skiing area by the dam. This, of course, means Logue Brook Dam attracts a lot of water skiers.
